The Seriös Group Newcastle Eagles got their Women’s British Basketball League campaign off to a flying start down in Manchester on Sunday. An excellent second half effort and in particular third quarter paving the way for the win. Newcastle also won through adversity showing excellent character throughout a tough 40 minutes where their togetherness and team…
It would appear that the Seriös Group Newcastle Eagles Head Coach Noelia Cacheiro and her players have a lot of work to do before they open their Women’s British Basketball League campaign against Manchester Giants on October 20th. Last weekend they’d gone down to a 20-point defeat at home in their opening pre-season game against…
It was an afternoon of experimentation and learning for coach Noelia Cacheiro and her Eagles women as they opened their preseason campaign with a tough loss to the visiting Leicester Riders. The Eagles play-caller had at her disposal a deep and diverse roster, featuring a blend of returning Eagles, new-additions and talented University athletes eager…
Newcastle’s mission impossible proved predictably unmanageable as the most talented women’s team in WBBL history put the hapless Eagles to the sword. Needing to win by ten points to confirm their play-off place Head Coach Noelia Cacherio’s came up agonisingly short. An eight-point victory for Newcastle bizarrely means it was a better result for The…
A desperately disappointing weekend has seen Newcastle Eagles WBBL side drop out of the play-off positions with only two games of the regular season to go. A loss at home in the Vertu Motors Arena to Cardiff on Saturday night was compounded by a road loss in the derby clash at Durham. Even worse for…
The Newcastle Eagles WBBL side go into this afternoon’s crucial derby game against Durham Palatatines needing to bounce back from a disappointing home loss against a well-drilled and organised Cardiff side. The defeat could be very damaging to Newcastle who had looked comfortable in the play-off positions and indeed were hopeful that they could attain…
Newcastle must move on from a humbling defeat in London and focus on the back-to-back fixtures against Cardiff Met Archers that could seal a top-six finish. Noelia Cacheiro’s beaten but unbowed side hosts the Welsh franchise at the Vertu Motors Arena on Saturday. And seventh-placed Newcastle travel to eighth-placed Cardiff the following weekend for what…
