Newcastle Eagles and Great Britain Men’s Head Coach Marc Steutel has confirmed the 24-man roster for the upcoming FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 Qualifiers window next week.

GB face Belgium at the Vertu Motors Arena next Friday night, followed by Serbia away in Belgrade on the weekend, with some exciting new faces joining an established core of proven talent.

The national team will take to the Newcastle court under the stewardship of Steutel and his staff once again as they conclude what has been a historic FIBA Basketball World Cup qualifying campaign, reaching the second qualifying phase for the first time in their history.

Thrilling clashes in front of sold-out crowds at the home of Newcastle Eagles in recent years have seen GB win against Greece and go to battle against the powerhouse basketball nations of Turkey, Latvia and Serbia.

Alongside the established group of players who are well-known to British basketball fans and have represented the country with distinction, Coach Steutel has included a group of five potential national team debutants in the preliminary roster.

Amin Adamu, Michael Belle, Noah Horchler, Kimbal Mackenzie and Jelani Watson-Gayle have all been selected and looking for their first senior caps.

Gareth Murray and Jackson Gibbons continue in their roles as Assistant Coaches alongside Steutel, having made their debuts on the sidelines for the senior National Team in November, while Andreas Kapoulas continues to be unavailable due to family commitments.
