Congratulations to our Women’s British Basketball League Eagles team coach Chris Bunten on being awarded the title of Molten WBBL Coach of the Month for November.
Our Eagles women have had a terrific four weeks and Bunten’s side have the best record during the period. Despite the international break they still managed to accumulate a flawless four wins.
The ladies have also emerged as challengers for silverware with recent eye-catching results and an array of statement wins leading up to this Sunday’s WBBL Cup Quarter-Final against Manchester Mystics.
Bunten started off November by presiding over a terrific 78-53 regional derby success at local rivals Durham Palatinates.
And, after the pause button had been pushed for Great Britain and their FIBA Women’s EuroBasket Qualifiers, the Eagles got straight back onto a winning track.
In what was undoubtedly their best weekend of the campaign so far, they went to Manchester Mystics and recorded a fine 83-68 triumph. Then less than 24 hours later, they followed it up with an 82-75 win against the Sheffield Hatters.
Our Eagles then rounded off a highly productive November with a crushing 84-48 success on their travels at Cardiff Met Archers.
Bunten fought off competition from Jesper Sundberg of Leicester Riders for the award, with his peer the only other unbeaten WBBL play-caller in November with a 3-0 record.
The WBBL Eagles are back in action this Sunday and need your support to make it even more back-to-back wins and look for a place in the Cup Semi-Finals.
