Get behind the Newcastle Eagles feeder team this Saturday as Newcastle University face Reading Rockets in the L Lynch Trophy Semi-Final.

There will be familiar faces on the court with Themba Yabantu also on the National Basketball League (NBL) Division 1 team’s roster along with our BBL team’s training player Ronald Blaine, who fans saw on the Vertu Motors Arena court in our Eagles pre-season.

Eagles BBL player Themba Yabantu also plays for Newcastle University.

On the sidelines it’s our BBL team’s former assistant coach Mark Elderkin who holds the NBL D1 team’s head coach role and retired Eagle Charles Smith will be on hand as his assistant.


The semi-final clash against Reading Rockets tips off at 5pm and entry to Newcastle University Sport Centre is free.
