The draw for the 2023 Women’s British Basketball League Betty Codona Trophy Quarter and Semi Finals has been made with representatives from clubs in attendance.
Quarter-Final tip-offs are the second stage of the Trophy competition, which follows the first-round games already scheduled for the first weekend of January.
The first round sees the bottom six teams from last season’s final Championship standings clash in knock-out games, including our Eagles along with Cardiff, Durham, Manchester, Nottingham and Oaklands.
Our Seriös Group Newcastle Eagles tip-off in their first round game on Saturday 6 January at 7:30pm against Nottingham Wildcats at the Vertu Motors Arena.
Victory in that early 2024 fixture leads to an away game in the Quarter-Finals on the weekend of 13-14 January against the winner between Cardiff Met Archers and Manchester Giants.
A win in the knockout Quarter-Final at either Cardiff or Manchester would see us head away to a Semi-Final at either Essex or Leicester to take place 20-21 January 2024.
The road to the final ends on Sunday 28 January at Utilita Arena, Birmingham, when British basketball comes together in the first Men’s and Women’s silverware showpiece event of the year live on Sky Sports.
