In the first All-Star Five of the new season after the big opening weekend of WBBL Cup action that saw almost all of the league’s teams in action twice, our Eagles’ Ebony Horton has landed herself a starting place.

Our WBBL team recorded a pair of big double-digit wins over the weekend against Caledonia Pride on Saturday and Durham Palatinates on Sunday and it was in a North East derby that former Great Britain u20 international Horton shone.

Having joined Eagles over the summer, the former Manchester Mystics player poured in 31 points on 12-19 (63%) interior shooting and 7-9 (77%) at the line, adding seven rebounds and four assists.

The teams were separated by just two possessions at the half, until Horton hit eight points in an unstoppable 21-0 surge to open the third period.

Well done Ebony!
