Newcastle Eagles are delighted to announce the signing of 6’2” American point guard David Cohn.

Head coach Marc Steutel and the club have been working hard to find a replacement for Travon Broadway Jr who was released earlier this week and have swooped to land Cohn in the last 48 hours.

The former graduate of NCAA Division 1 university the College of William and Mary, Cohn has played professionally for two seasons in Israel following his graduation and last season starred for Wiha Panthers Schwenningen in Germany’s ProA division.

“Cohn is an excellent addition to our team and I am thrilled he will be joining us”, said Steutel.

“He is an extremely skilled and high IQ guard who will enable us to play the way we want too.

“David is joining a very talented back court and I am looking forward to him getting acclimated with the group as soon as possible.”

Cohn averaged 12 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2 steals and a highly impressive league leading 9.1 assists per game.

The Eagles are hopeful that the 27-year-old guard will be at their tip-off against Sheffield Sharks tonight and that coach Steutel’s new charge may be ready to suit up.
