Seriös Group Newcastle Eagles Abby Lowe has been called-up to the national team ahead of the FIBA Women’s EuroBasket 2025 qualifying games against Sweden and Estonia later this month.
Lowe takes per place in the senior women’s training camp squad for the first time, after having previous competed internationally for GB at the 3×3 Nations League.
“I’m really excited and honored to be called up to the training camp for GB”, said Lowe.
“This is a really great opportunity for me and I’m grateful for all the Eagle’s community and the support from my teammates, the staff and all our lovely fans”.
The 5’11” guard will be among familiar faces as head coach Chema Buceta has selected nine fellow Women’s British Basketball League stars to join her on the floor with five of the 11 clubs being represented in the roster.
Meanwhile at the sidelines two of the League’s coaches join Buceta with both Vanessa Ellis of the Sheffield Hatters and Stef Collins of the Cardiff Met Archers assisting.
Following the camp which starts this weekend, the team take on Sweden in a home game on Thursday 9 November at the National Basketball Performance Centre in Manchester and then face Estonia in Tallinn just three days later on 12 November.
