There’s a familiar theme starting to trend as the Seriös Group Newcastle Eagles continue to announce their roster for the 2023-24 Women’s British Basketball League season.

Another returnee and another player that is a real part of the Eagles franchise on and off the court as Chloe Gaynor has signed for her third consecutive season at a club.

“Another familiar face to the club that I am glad to welcome back,” said Head Coach Noelia Cacheiro.

“Chloe has seen much growth as a player in the last two seasons, and she keeps growing every day she steps on the court.

“The team needs her to be an inside presence, however, her versatility allows our offence to be more flexible and dynamic.

“Chloe’s capacity to adapt to different styles of play and opponents give us an edge over other teams offensively.

“I can’t wait to see her contribution to the history of this club in this 2023-24 season”

The 6’3″ former Nottingham Wildcat contributed a very solid effort to the Eagles season in 2022/23 with her all-round abilities garnering her 7.2 points, 6.7 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1 blocked shot per game.

“I’m really looking forward to returning for my 3rd season with the Eagles,” added Gaynor.

“There’s nothing better than playing for our awesome fans on a Saturday night, and I can’t wait to get started again.”

“I’m excited to continue my work on and off the court to help us reach the next level and build a pathway for the younger generation.”

The Eagles open with their women’s first regular season game against Caledonia Gladiators on Saturday 28 October at 7:30pm where Gaynor will be hoping to help them get off to a winning start.
