Newcastle Eagles Women are up against Manchester Basketball on Thursday 2 April in the Vertu Arena for ‘The Big One’, the team’s annual fixture to get the biggest attendance of the season.

Basketball fans are in for a real treat with the stakes high and the two opponents close in the league.

In an interview, women’s team club captain Zoe Willis said: “A full house on the show court would be really something to scream about”.

The Eagles have shown real power and passion throughout the season winning 11 out their 19 games and having all their fans cheering them on at this up coming home game will surely raise the energy levels through the roof.


It is going to be the biggest game of the season so far and with Newcastle being fifth and Manchester sitting in sixth, so it is all or nothing.

Tyneside’s team won their previous game 76-72 against Leicester Riders at home on Friday 20 March, setting them up for another big win on Thursday after two weeks of training and rest.

“Make sure you get there, we’re on the show court versus Manchester, it’ll be a real good game! Hopefully you can join us”, Willis added.

Tip-off is at 7:30pm and tickets are available for this exciting game from the box office. This won’t just be a game, it’ll be a battle you won’t want to miss!
