Newcastle Eagles continue to add to their exciting 2025/26 roster with the announcement of signing explosive Caleb Huffman.
The 6’4” guard hailing from Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, will spend his third professional season on Tyneside competing in Super League Basketball (SLB) and the European North Basketball League (ENBL).
“I’m blessed and super excited to be a part of this club”, said Huffman. “I’m coming to you with a lot of passion, energy and love for the game.
“I can’t wait to put on a show for all the Eagles fans in the Vertu Arena.”

After graduating from NCAA Division 1 Nicholls State University in 2023, Huffman started his pro career in Europe with Lithuanian top-tier LKL team M Basket-Delamode Mazeikiai, before switching to Germany’s Pro-A club Koblenz in the December.
Last season the guard played in Denmark’s BasketLigaen for Team Fog Naestved, where in 30 games he averaged 15.6 points per game with 5.3 rebounds and 2.7 assists. He also shot 37.5% from 3-point range making 54 in total.
“We believe Caleb will be an exciting player who has the ability to impact our season greatly”, said Eagles head coach Marc Steutel.
“He is extremely dynamic and I know he is looking forward to testing himself in the SLB and ENBL.
“Caleb is creative and a true playmaker, who can put pressure on defences in a variety of ways.
“I’ve really enjoyed talking with him throughout the recruitment process and I am positive he will be so valuable in helping us achieve our aims this season.”
Huffman is the second American guard with that surname to sign for Newcastle, following Damon who spent the 2012/13 season with the club. Fans and club officials alike will be hoping that the Eagles’ newest Huffman can bring as much ability to the team as his namesake.
The ENBL has officially confirmed Newcastle’s participation in the 2025/26 competition, which will see Huffman and his newly signed teammates draw on their collective European experience for another exciting season across the continent. ENBL season and game ticketing details are due to be announced by the club next week.
