The Seriös Group Newcastle Eagles have added some British Basketball League experience to their already solid looking 2023/23 roster with the capture of former Manchester Mystic Princess Adeogun.

The 5’ 5” Point Guard played against Newcastle last season in one of her twelve outings for Manchester which saw her average 1.1 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game. Adeogun will bring another supporting piece to the Eagles jigsaw.

The former Loughborough Student Rider has also played for Essex Rebels in the British Basketball League as well as turning out for Team Solent Kestrels in NBL Division 1. Adeogun is also a former Ireland Under-20 international.

Head Coach Cacheiro explained what she thinks her latest signing will bring to her roster.

“It is great to have someone joining the team who already knows the league, and comes with a wealth of experience. Princess is a great addition to our roster who will add speed and determination to our offence.”

“I am looking forward to seeing how Princess bonds with the team, and helps us win games this season”, Cacheiro concluded.

For Adeogun it appears she’s thrilled to be part of the new 2023/24 roster for the forthcoming season and feels it’s a real opportunity to move her career forward.

“I’m super excited to join the Eagles! I’m really looking forward to working with the coaching staff and my teammates to develop every aspect of my game.”

“I had a tough season last year for varying reasons, so I hope I can rebuild my confidence and contribute to the anticipated success of this team,”

The new guard is also looking to seeing the famous Eagles fanbase as she added.

“I feel blessed to have the opportunity to play in front of the Eagles fans; I’ve heard nothing but great things!”

Adeogun will actually make her Eagles regular season debut against her former club Manchester on Sunday 22 October before making her home debut on Saturday 28 October at 7:30pm at the Vertu Motors Arena against Caledonia Gladiators.

Tickets for this are available at newcastle-eagles.com/boxoffice where season cards are also still available with big discounts and benefits.
