Eagles lack of a game this weekend resulted in no presence in this weeks Team of The Week.
This week’s star performer is Irish forward Colin O’Reilly, of the Cheshire Jets. O’Reilly is new to the league this year, and after a couple of solid games, he announced that he was the ‘real deal’ with a massive stat line of 31 points and 10 rebounds, in the Jets win over the Plymouth Raiders. He achieved this on 10/10 shooting from the field, and 3/7 from behind the arc.
Taking the other forward spot this week is Jason Johnson, who features in the Team of the Week for the second time already, in his rookie professional season with the Jelson Homes DMU Leicester Riders. The 6’8” American got his now customary double-double with numbers of 23 points and 11 rebounds, on 10/14 field goal shooting, in 27:18 minutes of action against the Essex Pirates on Saturday evening. He is joined by team mate Shaun Durant at Centre, as the former Worcester Wolves big man continues his run of form, almost getting a double-double of points and rebounds with 9 points and 10 rebounds, as well as netting five of his eight free throw attempts.
The guard spots this week both go to high scorers, as Jessie Sapp and Rob Yanders did the Glasgow Rocks proud. In the Rocks game against the Wolves, Sapp bagged 27 points, on 4/6 three point shooting and 11/13 free throw shooting, as well as 12 rebounds and 5 assists. Yanders was similarly impressive, with 25 points off 7/8 shooting from the line, to complete this week’s star line up.
