Fab grabs another Molten Coach of the Month accolade

Fab Flournoy has added to his ever growing list of coaching honours after being crowned Molten BBL Coach of the Month for November.

The Esh Group Eagles Newcastle play-caller was the only coach to guide his team through the period without tasting a defeat.

Flournoy presided over five victories is as many games, with an eye-catching basket difference of plus fifty as the north-east club maintained its place at the helm of the BBL Championship, as well as edging closer to securing a fourth successive BBL Cup Final appearance.

The Eagles’ player-coach and his men tipped off the month with a terrific 95-75 road win in the BBL Championship against Sheffield Sharks.

They followed up their flying start with a similarly eye-catching success on their home court as they took down Glasgow Rocks 103-93 at Sport Central, to make a real statement about their intention to successfully defend their league crown.

Having successfully negotiated a tricky game at the Pavilions against Plymouth University Raiders to come away with an 88-82 triumph, it was on to Cup action last weekend forFlournoy.

Still smarting from their heavy loss in the league, Sheffield Sharks welcomed the Eagles again in the first leg of the BBL Cup semi-final and were ready for revenge, but couldn’t avoid falling to another loss as the visitors took a hard fought 77-75 success.

The Eagles then wrapped up their unbeaten calendar month by claiming a 105-93 victory at Bristol Flyers.

Flournoy fought off stiff competition from John Coffino of Cheshire Phoenix who had six wins in seven games during November and also Paul James of Worcester Wolves, who racked up five wins in six outings.

Sorry to bury these here but well done ANDRE for your first place on the BBL Team of the Week Bench too!
