Following on from the success of our 2021-22 season when all three of our Eagles Academy teams reached the Junior National Basketball League’s last 16 and our Under 14 boys went one further to reach the national quarter finals, we are delighted to say that we are expanding our advanced development provision this coming year.

As well as boys and girls Under 14 and Under 16 teams we are, for the first time, introducing new separate Advanced Development Groups at the Under 10 and Under 12 age groups for both boys and girls.

These groups will be run out of the Vertu Motors Arena from September onwards with each group attending one two hour session per week.

Selected children can continue to play CVL and attend club sessions as well. Each group will contain 20 to 30 children and, if selected, there will be a separate monthly cost of £30 per member.

We anticipate interest for these groups will be significant and as such will be running try-outs (open to all) on the following dates:

  • Sunday 5 June
  • Sunday 19 June
  • Sunday 26 June
  • Sunday 10 July (* Please see slightly different times below)
  • Sunday 17 July

Age group and gender split sessions will take place at the following times:

U10 boys – 9-10:30am
U10 girls – 10:30am-12pm
U12 boys – 10:30am-12pm
U12 girls – 9-10:30am

* On Sunday 10 July this will be slightly adjusted to:

U10 boys – 9-10am
U10 girls – 10-11am
U12 boys – 10-11am
U12 girls – 9-10am

Note: Under 10 is classed as the current school years 3 and 4 whereas Under 12 is years 5 and 6.

Sessions are now open to sign up for on your child’s nest account:

Try-outs must be booked as a block, which costs £25, and cannot be booked as individual sessions. If you are not seeing the session on your nest account please check that you have properly identified your child’s gender and their correct date of birth when signing up.

Please note that these are try outs for advanced groups. If you are unsure as to whether your child is of the requisite level, please consult with your club coach.

Finally, it is never our intention to exclude any young person on financial grounds. Should cost be an issue please refer to our Pay it Forward Programme support fund or email directly Taylor Rendles for more information at [email protected].
