It was two Newcastle Eagles players who were the joint best players of the week and so it is no surprise to see them in the team of the week. The rest of the team is made up of Cheshire Jets players, but there is also another Eagle off the bench.

BBL Team of the Week

Jeremy Bell (Cheshire Jets)

Playmaker Bell grabs his first appearance of the campaign after racking up a massive 33 points in the BBL Cup quarter-final success against Jelson Homes DMU Leicester Riders. He added to his huge scoring production by also dishing up 7 assists and grabbing 4 rebounds as he played every minute to safely guide his team into the last four of the competition.

Trey Moore (Newcastle Eagles)

The Molten Player of The Month for October is back in the starting five for the third time in four weeks after producing a typically mesmerising performance for the Eagles as they thrashed Worcester Wolves at Sport Central. Moore was the joint best performer of the week with a performance valuation of 33 after just missing out on a terrific double-double and actually not being that far away from a triple-double either with a fantastic 26 points, 9 assists and 7 rebounds.

Colin O’Reilly (Cheshire Jets)

After his stellar season in 2009/10, O’Reilly has, by his own admission, struggled to hit the heights of last year but he finally showed up big time for his team after a stunning perimeter shooting display against Riders. The Ireland star dropped a devastating six of seven from downtown on his way to an impressive 25 points which he will be hoping kick starts his season – not that he has needed to find the form of last year with so many Jets players on peak form.

Calvin Davis (Cheshire Jets)

O’Reilly and Bell are joined by BBL veteran Calvin Davis who rolled back the years and produced a massive double-double of 15 points and 14 rebounds to make the Team Of The Week for the first time this season. Davis showcased how he has changed and adapted his game in recent years by knocking down three triples as well as doing the dirty work on the glass.

Darius Defoe (Newcastle Eagles)

After the summer departure of former BBL MVP Lynard Stewart, many people have questioned the effectiveness of the Newcastle frontcourt but in a performance equally as impressive as his team-mate Trey Moore, big man Daris Defoe showed he can step up to the plate for the Eagles. He also claimed a brilliant double-double against the Wolves after finishing with 23 points and 13 rebounds as well as 3 assists and 3 steals.
