Martin handed Molten BBL Player of the Month

While often seen as the ‘quiet man’ of the all-conquering Esh Group Eagles Newcastle, Scott Martin has been rewarded for making some serious noise of late by being crowned Molten BBL Player of the Month for December.

Currently in his third season on Tyneside, the unflappable forward is continuing to showcase his trademark inside-outside game to superb effect, in what proved to be a particularly devastatingly and efficient period.

Helping the unbeaten BBL Championship leaders to six wins during December, Martin was central to the Eagles punching a ticket to yet another BBL Cup Final and also setting a dazzling new club record of 25 straight victories.

Martin was the top three-point shooter in the BBL during the month, dropping 52.2% of his attempts from downtown and that contributed to 17.5 points per game.

He shot a wonderful 62.7% from the floor and also hauled down 7.8 rebounds and dished out 2.7 assists per game for a performance valuation of 22.5.

The 27-year-old fought off competition for the accolade from December’s leading BBL scorer – Daryl Corletto of Plymouth University Raiders.
