DBL Sharks Sheffield recorded their first win over Esh Group Eagles Newcastle since 2014 with a 95-84 victory.
The home side dominated the fourth period with Malcolm Riley leading the way with 29 points, supported by two double-doubles.
Tony Wroblicky grabbed 16 rebounds to compliment 14 points, while Max Guercy dished out 10 assists in the absence of Jordan Davis to go with 16 points in the win.
It was the Eagles who made the brighter start and led 10-18 in the first before a 10-0 close saw the home side edge ahead.
Newcastle regained control in the second and were up as many as 12 at 31-43, though their advantage would be cut in half at the interval.
Sheffield continued to reduce the deficit and were within a single point ahead of the final 10 minutes, which proved pivotal.
The first 19 points went the way of the home side with Newcastle shut out for almost six minutes in the fourth with the damage already done as Sheffield went on to wrap up the win.
Rahmon Fletcher had 16 of his team-high 24 points in the first half as he became the first player to pass 500 points on the season.
Newcastle drop to a 19-6 record with the league leaders, Leicester Riders seeing their position at the top strengthened.
