It has already been a landmark season for the club, with us moving into our new Eagles Community Arena and having our own WBBL team for the first time, yet lines in the history books continue to be written.

Home wins for our men and women last week secured them both their places in the 2019 benecos British Basketball Play-Offs.

An exciting Friday night victory over Manchester Giants means that our BBL team are now guaranteed a place in the Play-Offs Quarter-Finals which will take place on the weekend of the 3rd, 4th and 5th May.

Getting the win this Friday night will mean our Eagles claim another British Basketball League record with an amazing top three Championship table position finish for the 15th year in a row.

It could be a couple of weeks before we know for certain who the opposition will be and also on which day of that huge quarters-weekend we will have the home leg.

On thing we do know already is that it has been a dream opening campaign for us in the WBBL having locked-in a hard-fought and well-deserved top-eight finish in our first season as Eagles.

The news came after our women’s team edged the ‘W’ over BA London Lions 59-56 on Saturday night at the ECA.

Play-Offs Quarter-Finals games are included in our BBL and WBBL season tickets and their exclusive additional tickets discount offers still apply.

The Play-Offs culminate in the Finals at The O2 in London, the biggest event in the British Basketball calendar at The 02 in London, which sees climax of both the BBL and WBBL seasons.

Coaching staff and players alike on both our Eagles teams have a wealth experience going into this year’s post-season.

In 2016 our WBBL team head coach Chris Bunten and guard Rachael Bland lifted the Play-Offs silverware. In the previous year our BBL team won the coveted title for a league record sixth time with all of those wins under Fab Flournoy’s leadership.

It’s been an exciting season already and it is certainly not over yet.
