All Star Five – Week 23

This week brought some of the best displays of the campaign as four of our starters passed the impressive landmark of 30 in terms of their respective performance efficiency valuations.
Daryl Corletto (Plymouth University Raiders)
Yet again Corletto led his team by example as he notched up a fourth appearance of the season in our starting five. He propelled Plymouth University Raiders to a success against Cheshire Phoenix with a mammoth 32 points which paced his team and were sunk from all over the floor. He dropped five triples and made six of eight inside the three-point line, while also dishing up three assists and grabbing two steals in an all-action display.
Louis Sayers (Leeds Force)
It was a hugely important win for Leeds Force against fellow Play-Off hopefuls Bristol Flyers and the British star’s contribution was central to the Yorkshire side’s victory. Sayers fired a smart 18 points including 50% shooting from the perimeter as he converted four scores from downtown. He also made both of his field goal attempts at the hoop and completed an efficient night of work by snapping up five rebounds and two assists.
Demond Watt (London Lions)
It’s a second appearance for the London Lions’ forward in the space of three weeks, after Manchester Giants found him too-hot-to handle under the hoop. Watt delivered the best performance of the entire weekend after he torched his opponents with a 10 of 15 shooting effort inside the paint which contributed towards a mesmerising double-double of 23 points and 14 rebounds. He also corralled a block and a steal for good measure.
Cory Dixon (Plymouth University Raiders)
The Plymouth University Raiders’ forward even outshone his team-mate and player-coach, with what turned out to be the second best effort of the weekend in the BBL. He tore down Cheshire with a special 75% shooting performance from the field, which also included a score from behind the three-point line. Dixon amassed a wonderful double-double by going to work on the glass and harvesting
16 rebounds, as well as handing out three assists.
Kieron Achara (Glasgow Rocks)
The Great Britain star finds himself back in our starting line-up for the fourth time this season after the Stirling native helped Rocks to a pair of fabulous road wins at London and Leicester. Both of his performances were worthy of the top five and while the effort against the Lions was perhaps most decisive, his most efficient was against Riders when he racked up a dazzling double-double of
24 points and 15 boards, as well as swatting away a fantastic four shots..
Off the bench – Perris Blackwell (Worcester Wolves), Olumide Oyedeji (London Lions), Mike Tuck (Sheffield Sharks), TrayVonn Wright (Leicester Riders), Rahmon Fletcher (Esh Group Eagles Newcastle), Orlan Jackman (Worcester Wolves), Will Hall (Glasgow Rocks)
