Newcastle Eagles partner Lumo is celebrating the renewal of its support for the club into a third year by organising a special treat for visitors to Newcastle Pride this weekend.
Lumo’s logo will once again be proudly displayed on the back of the Eagles women’s jerseys and shooting shirts in the upcoming Super League Basketball (SLB) season, as part of an extended club-wide sponsorship.
Players and staff from the women’s team will be joining Lumo at their Newcastle Pride Free Festival stall in the city centre this Saturday, July 19, to hand out one thousand tickets to their opening game of the season this September, in addition to some exciting Lumo giveaways.

Jen Clare, Service Delivery Director at Lumo, says she’s delighted to be partnering with the women’s team once again this year: “We’re proudly from the North East and championing our local community is very important to us at Lumo. Renewing our commitment to the Newcastle Eagles is a key part of that.
“All of the team at Lumo would like to wish both the men’s and women’s teams the best of luck for the upcoming season. We can’t wait to welcome them and their dedicated fans onboard.
“I’d also encourage people to pop down to Newcastle Pride this year. The opportunity to win tickets to see the Eagles in action is an unmissable one. There will also be fabulous Lumo giveaways and the return of the Lumo Platform Stage, featuring brilliant live performances.”
Lumo is a key player on the East Coast Mainline, providing affordable and stylish travel that links people in the North East with destinations including Edinburgh and London.
The operator will also continue to provide sustainable all-electric travel for the Eagles men’s and women’s teams when they travel to London for games.
Newcastle Eagles Women’s Player-Coach Chloe Gaynor is amongst those who will be travelling with Lumo to the games. She said: “Everyone at Lumo has been a brilliant support for our team and I’m thrilled that this partnership will be continuing into a third year.
“The team are proud to have such an iconic North East brand on their backs for games and especially one that’s so present in the local community as well as active in supporting the LGBTQ+ community.
“We’ve been very well looked after when we’ve travelled with Lumo, so we’ve been able to arrive for games refreshed and ready to compete!”
Last summer Lumo took pride of place on the backs of Chloe Gaynor’s roster in their first sponsorship of a women’s team.

Dan Black, Sales and Communications Manager at Newcastle Eagles, said: “Lumo’s support of the club and our women’s franchise in particular, has been a huge boost not only as our sponsor, but as a now long-term partner that shares our values.
“We’re delighted to be teaming up with Lumo for Newcastle Pride and hope that by giving away one thousand tickets, as we celebrate the North East’s LGBTQ+ community this weekend, that we can get everyone behind our women’s team in their opening game of the season this September.
“Both our men’s and women’s teams have been able to take advantage of travelling on Lumo’s all-electric trains for games in London and connecting across the south. It’s given them the best possible preparation on the longest away journeys and this green travel option aligns perfectly with our sustainability mission.”
Newcastle Eagles women’s team’s 2025/26 kit is due to be unveiled next month along with the first signings to Gaynor’s side.
While a full set of fixtures for the new season is yet to be officially released by the club, due to several changes still in discussion between officials at the SLB and its teams, the opening home game has been confirmed as Sunday 21 September with a Play-Offs Semi-Final rematch against the Sheffield Hatters.
Tickets for the Eagles women’s first game of the 2025/26 SLB campaign will be available to book online from the box office this weekend.
