Eagles guard Drew Lasker returns to the North East for a second season following a successful first full season at Newcastle. The 31 year old guard recorded 8.5 points per game and 4.1 rebounds during the 2013-14 campaign, injecting the pace and energy that have become a trademark of his game in close to a decade of BBL competition.

Eagles managing director Paul Blake was pleased to announce the return of Lasker;

‘It’s great to have Drew back for next season. I know it was a big thing for him to help bring the BBL title back to Newcastle. He really wants to win things and has always impressed that on us in his two stints at the club. He is a very positive influence on and off the court and we look forward to having him around for next season and hopefully longer.’

From his home in Houston Texas, Lasker remarked on his ambition for the coming season;

I’m really excited to be back for another season! The Eagles as a club and their supporters made my family feel at home last season. I’m excited about the new challenge ahead, defending our title and going for more silverware this season. I’m going into this season with higher expectations for myself with a year of Fab’s system under my belt.

Lasker joins Andrew Thomson in Fab Flournoy’s 2014-15 side with big ambitions to win the BBL title for the seventh time in a decade. More signings will be announced in the near future.
