Newcastle Eagles BBL and WBBL teams will wear Kappa apparel and kit in the 2022-23 season after an extension to the sponsorship deal was announced today.

The worldwide sportswear company penned a deal with the leagues to continue their significant commitment to supporting British basketball’s top-flight.

The Eagles and British basketball as a whole have seen monumental growth in recent years with record numbers of sold-out games throughout the 2021-22 season and the new campaign it is set to be yet another landmark year alongside the Italian sportswear brand.

“We are thrilled to be continuing our long-standing partnership with Kappa and thank them for their continued support of both the BBL and WBBL”, said the BBL and WBBL’s Chief Operating Officer, Andy Webb.

“It has been an incredible year for the growth of British Basketball, what with the investment deal earlier this year and the record attendances at the play-off finals, the sport is thriving, and we look forward to working with Kappa again next season.”

“We can’t wait to see our clubs once again kitted out in their apparel out on the court in what is such an exciting time for the sport.”

Kappa have been league partners since 2016 and will once again supply clubs with a wide range of sportswear, including the on-court jerseys, shooting shirts and shorts as well as team training kit, tracksuits and more.

“When the BBL deal was up for tender we at Kappa didn’t hesitate to pitch again for the apparel partnership”, added Dave Bandell, National Team Sports Manager at Kappa.

“This is now Kappa’s longest running sponsorship in the UK and emphasises our commitment as a brand to Basketball in the UK.

“We continue to provide quality kits and bench-wear to the BBL and WBBL and wider basketball community and are grateful to be given a further opportunity to work within the upper reaches of basketball.”

The Newcastle Eagles 2022-23 BBL and WBBL kits will be launched later in the summer with a special limited edition third kit and an exciting new off-court range also planned.
