Esh Group Eagles Newcastle 103 (32,54,82) (Fletcher 26, Martin 25, Parks 22)
Glasgow Rocks 86 (17,45,65) (Watson 19, Thomas 15, Reilly/Matrakov 14)

Esh Group Eagles Newcastle continued their dominance over Glasgow Rocks with a 20th consecutive victory as they recorded an important 103-86 win.

Fab Flournoy’s side had lost their last two games, but needed to win in order to prevent Leicester Riders securing the league title.

Rahmon Fletcher top scored with 26 points with Scott Martin and Deondre Parks adding 25 and 22 points respectively as the Eagles shot just under 60% from 3-point range.

The hosts signalled their intent early on with a 15-5 start and led by as many as 16 in the opening period. Glasgow began to settle and cut the gap back into single figures as Boris Matrakov moved to 10 points with two quick threes.

Newcastle’s advantage was cut to six when Lee Reilly netted from deep in the third, but they quickly responded to open up a 14-point lead.

The gap further increased to 17 heading into the final 10 minutes and the damage was done as the Eagles went on to secure yet another win over Glasgow to continue the streak.

Neil Watson top scored for the Rocks with 19 points and they now have a 17-12 record along with Sheffield and Worcester.
