Javion Hamlet hammered home the points in our Eagles two games spanning the New Year mark last week to earn his second appearance in the BBL’s Week 14 All-Star Five.

Hamlet holds top billing in the BBL right now, setting the place for 2023 as the league’s leading scorer after being unstoppable in our Eagles’ home win over Caledonia Gladiators.

Pouring in 34 points last Wednesday, the American went to free-throw line 15 times and made them all, adding six assists and three rebounds in the game.

Our Eagles trailed for most of the game until a 13-4 run to end the third in which Hamlet handed out three assists, before he scored six points in the last seven minutes, all from the free-throw line.

The 6’4″ guard continued his high scoring run on New Year’s Day with another jaw dropping 33-points performance and is now averaging 21.9 per game putting him out in front of nearest rival scorer Tajh Green of the Manchester Giants by 1.6.

Even though the Giants took the ‘W’ on Sunday, Javion led an impressive comeback from our Eagles who swung the game from a 13-point deficit to almost take the win on the road in Manchester.

Darius Defoe also received a nod from the league in their pick of the player this week with the Eagles captain securing a place on the bench following back-to-back games putting up 20-points.

Back home this Friday night the Eagles welcome Surrey Scorchers for another exciting tip-off and tickets are selling fast!

Join us in congratulating Javion and Darius!
