Due to unforeseen circumstances, the WBBL Cup First Round game between Essex Rebels and Newcastle Eagles will no longer be going ahead as planned tomorrow, Saturday 15 October.

An unprecedented number of injuries to the Eagles team in training this week resulted in an inability to field a team.

Coaching staff and club management had been seeking to add to the roster this week, but delays in international clearances meant that any additions would not be eligible to play in time for the fixture.

The club thanks the Rebels and the WBBL for their cooperation in this difficult situation.
