Newcastle Eagles are thrilled to announce the appointment of 3 new coaches to the School of Excellence Junior National League programme.  The three coaches will be joining long serving coach Graham Heath who will take the reigns of the Under 18 Men’s team.  Coach Heath has worked within the National League set up for 12 years.

Team Northumbria women’s WBBL and former Great Britain under 20 player Ruth Davison will take over the Under 18 women’s team.  This is the first year coaching within National League for the 24 year old.  Davison is a local girl from Gosforth who has come through the Newcastle Eagles system and works at GosforthHigh School.

On the boys side Coach Heath will be joined by Raf Silva who was appointed to the Under 16 boy’s team.  Coach Silva has worked across Europe as a professional coach both with men and women.  Most recently he was the assistant coach for Team Northumbria Women who raised the National Cup and BUCS Championship this season.

Greek born George Kiriakou takes his skills further north as he joins the Eagles staff.  Coach Kiriakou is well known in the northeast working for many years in the Middlesbrough and Teesside area.  Currently in his teaching/coaching role George works with Hartlepool 6th form in the British Colleges league.

The coaches will be hosting trials to select the teams for the 2014 – 15 season.  For more information contact the office on 0191 245 3881
