Newcastle Eagles’ inaugural season in the European North Basketball League (ENBL) will see them face teams from across seven counties in the 2023-24 season’s group stage.

At the ENBL’s Technical Meeting in the Latvian capital of Riga yesterday, the Eagles’ opposition in Group B was confirmed.

The teams who will tip-off against Newcastle will be Basket Brno (Czech Republic), CS Voluntari (Romania), Keila KK (Estonia), Liège Basket (Belgium), BC Šiauliai (Lithuania), Valmiera Glass Via (Latvia) and Zastal Zielona Góra (Poland).


This exciting new era for the club will see seven midweek games for Marc Steutel’s new-look team with three home games and four away fixtures in the group stage to be announced next week.

Fellow British Basketball League team Bristol Flyers, who have also joined the ENBL this season, have been entered into Group A to add four more countries to the list of those who will get the chance to line-up against opponents from the UK.
