CITY OF LEEDS BLACK 41 VS NEWCASTLE EAGLES II 65

A tough game to report on.

A win, but unfortunately another flat performance where the team never seemed to get going. Some unselfish play leading to nice easy baskets in the first 2 quarters and a first 3 pointer for one of the team were highlights, but in a game where the result always looked favourable we appeared to go through the motions with very little structure or flow to our play and this was highlighted with a relatively low score for ourselves and a return for Leeds which we should be disappointed with. Its clear in the games that we’ve played so far that we often allow other teams regardless of ability or confidence to dictate the style of play and tempo of the game. Some of our best performances have been when we are the underdog and some of our worst when we may be considered the stronger team. If we can learn from that though and try and impose our game on others from the start or show a little more composure and patience to turn the game around its another step in the right direction.

Noah Tallentire: Not very often in the spotlight, but always works hard and adds energy to the team at both ends of the court. Some good blocks on defence, unselfish running and passing, a personal high points total and the games top score.
