The Eagles looking to get their league campaign off to a good start and also bouncing back after their close cup exit and Calderdale….
The Eagles playing in white got off to a decent start against another very young team in the Magic II and it was close quarter till the visitors went on a 0-8 run making it 11-19 at the end of the first….
The second period was again a close affair with the Eagles scoring regularly as well as their hosts until the closing minutes as the boys in white going on another 2-9 run making it 21-38 at the half… (10-19)
The second half got underway and the Eagles turned up the defensive pressure on their hosts and the game was blown wide open as the visitors lead by Alex Williams perimeter shooting went on a massive 0-22 run making it 29-68… (8-30)
With the game seemingly won with such a dominating 3rd period… The 4th quarter fizzled out with a low scoring affair as both teams struggled for different reasons… The hosts had lost their way and the visiting Eagles well and truly took their foot off the gas… The final score came in at 39-79…. (10-11)
Eagles head coach Heath said, “We played 3 solid periods and 1 outstanding period of basketball… Unlike last week both teams were very young and looking to continue their further development… Our players were better fundamentally and we executed well at both ends…. We had solid scoring across the board and we forced numerous turn over’s and that was pleasing….”
