Wrapping-up one of the club’s most successful campaigns in recent years, Monday 19th May’s 2024/25 End of Season Supporters Night set another record for being the Eagles’ biggest event of its kind for back-to-back years.
Once again the Vertu Motors Arena played host to this special annual awards presentations and party, where fans had their final chance for signatures and selfies, whilst Eagles staff and players took to the stage to share stories from a season to remember.
The men’s team returned from the 2025 Super League Basketball (SLB) Play-Off Final 24-hours earlier and were proudly welcomed home to join the SLB Play-Offs Semi-Final runners-up women’s team following their highest Championship finish in the franchise’s history.
Eagles game night presentation team, Conall Lacy and Howard Leighton hosted the evening and first introduced the club’s sales and communications manager Dan Black who looked back at the season and gave a big thanks to the fans for all their support this season.

DAZN presenter for the SLB and former-Eagles player Drew Lasker gave fans some insight into the men’s and women’s time in Newcastle over the past year, firing the questions at our 2024-25 head coaches and rosters.
Drew Lasker quizzed the players of both our men’s and women’s teams on their time in Newcastle this season.
Later in the night, Newcastle Eagles managing director Paul Blake and CEO of the Eagles Community Foundation Sam Blake took to the stage to reflect on the last 12 months and thanked both the fans for all their support and the teams for all of their determination, grit and resilience this season
Paul and Sam Blake reflected on the 2024/25 season and thanked all our fans for their incredible and unrivalled support.
Paul and Sam also presented a special award to out-going club doctor Graeme Wiles, who leaves the performance staff this summer after over 20 years in service to the Newcastle Eagles organisation.
On his retirement this summer, club doctor Graeme Wilkes received The David Hunter Award from Paul and Sam Blake in recognition and appreciation for his over 20 years of work supporting the club and foundation.
As always at our annual supporters night, the Most Improved Player over the course of the season, Team Player of the Year and Most Valuable Player of the Year for each our our teams were presented with their fan-voted awards after one of the biggest count of votes in the club’s history.
In the end the voting results revealed the following honours:
Kendall Currence received the fan-voted award for Women’s Most Improved Player, presented by player-coach Chloe Gaynor.Tierra Hodges was voted Women’s Team Player of the Year.Fans voted Jada Guinn as the 2024/25 season Women’s MVP.Trey Pulliam received the fan-voted Men’s Most Improved Player award, presented by head coach Marc Steutel.Our 2024/26 Men’s Team Player of the Year award went to Josh Ward-Hibbert.‘Money’ Mike Okauru received the highest number of votes becoming the fans’ pick for Men’s MVP.
At the end of the night Dan Black returned to the stage to give the club’s thanks to all the ‘Wings Team’ volunteers, without whom so much of the season and game nights would not have been possible.
