Newcastle Eagles tip-off their second season in the European North Basketball League (ENBL) away in Slovakia at Spisski Rytieri on Wednesday 16 October.

The Slovak team are one of nine new teams joining the ENBL this year as our Eagles are set to face opposition from three new countries in Group A.

Spartak Pleven from Bulgarian will be the first European visitors to the Vertu Motors Arena in the first of an exciting line-up of four Tuesday night home games starting on 22 October.

Donar Groningen from Netherlands will land in Tyneside in November and BK Opava become the second team from Czechia that our Eagles will welcome for European competition in the new year.

This season, Romanian side CSO Voluntari will reverse last season’s fixture and travel to Newcastle, while Valmiera Glass VIA will again host the Eagles in Latvia.

Marc Steutel’s new-look team will fly to Poland’s Dziki Warszawa where they will play former Eagle Rickey McGill and his new teammates.

The final ENBL Group A tip-off for the Eagles will be one for the history books as the franchise play away at Estonia’s Tartu, who last faced the club in the final of its 2016 pre-season European invitational tournament.
