London Lions v Esh Group Eagles Newcastle
Sunday 29 December 2013
Copper Box Arena (16:00)
Fab Flournoy hopes to be able to share the minutes – as well as the ball – between his full roster when Esh Group Eagles Newcastle travel to London Lions on Sunday.
Flournoy and guard Drew Lasker have been out of action recently through injury but both are expected to return Sunday.
Eagles have still managed to win four in a row however and Flournoy believes his team’s willingness to share the ball has been central to that.
“We hope to be at full strength for this game,” he said.
“We just try and run our offensive sets and take what the defence gives us.
“I am delighted that we have an unselfish team and the important thing is always to share the ball and look for the open man.”
Despite suffering a dip in form of late, coach Vince Macaulay’s Lions have impressed Flournoy, particularly since their influx of imports.
Flournoy added: “London have had two seasons in one, starting with a fairly skeleton squad then getting their American guys in which really gives them unparalleled depth.
“If you add in adjusting to a new arena as well you have to think that Vince will be okay with the start that they have had.”
