Joe Chapman was named Newcastle Eagles Players Player of the Season last night at the Eagles Community Foundation Champions Ball.

Chapman’s teammates voted the Guard as their player of the season after he returned to the Eagles after a serious injury ended his season early last year. Chapman ruptured his Achilles whilst playing at Sport Central last year and underwent intensive rehabilitation in order to compete for the team again this year.

Chapman’s good form has helped himself and his teammates secure three trophies so far this season and they will be looking to get a fourth as they head into the playoffs this weekend.

Joe Chapman: “I am very privileged and grateful to win the team MVP award because it was the players that voted and it shows how much the team and coaches believe in me. It is an honour to have the award.”
