Eagles Community Foundation is excited to announce the expansion of its girls basketball programme with the launch of sessions at the Cramlington Vikings club.

Girls Only sessions are designed to equip young female players with the skills needed to enjoy the game of basketball in a social environment and as they develop it opens the pathway to progress into participating in the Eagles Central Venue League.

The Cramlington club is lead by Head Coach Matty Langley and his coaching team, who offer personalised instruction and support to help each girl reach her full potential.

Expansion of the Girls Only programme across the region is a focus for the Eagles Community Foundation and this Cramlington launch follows the growth of similar sessions being well established in Gosforth, Newcastle, North Tyneside and Ponteland.

“We believe the sport can have a positive impact on young women, promoting confidence and self-esteem, and providing an opportunity to have fun and make new friends”, said Development Manager Ian MacLeod commented.

“Cramlington is our fifth such session across the Foundation and we hope to expand even further into 2023-24 season as the growth of our sport continues.”

The sessions runs on Thursdays 7:30pm to 8:30pm at Cramlington Learning Village and is open to girls at u12 and u14 age groups, school years 6 and 9 respectively.
