It’s a fourth season in a row for popular 5’7” guard Alex Campbell as head coach Chloe Gaynor returns her to the roster.

The recently turned 21-year-old will once again provide support from the bench and in practice.

“Alex has been around the programme for a few years now and heading into her fourth year we have spoken about goals and expectations for her as a player, as she really continued to prove herself over the course of last season”, said Gaynor.

“Both the team, and fans see the energy that Alex brings to the team both on and off court and I’m excited to see her carve more of a role for herself this coming season.”

Coming to Newcastle from the City of Leeds Under-18s to play BUCS in 2022, Campbell was coached by Gaynor when the now Eagles play-caller was doubling-up coaching at Northumbria University and competing in the WBBL.

Campbell’s progress was halted a little last season through injury, but has shown she has plenty to offer throughout her time on Tyneside.

“I’m stoked to be returning to the nest for another year”, said Campbell.

“It’s exciting to see what the season has in store for us. Hopefully more growth as a programme and great competition ahead.”

Gaynor’s new look women’s team will be introduced in full this coming Friday night at The Launch. Tickets are still available on the box office.
