Global engineering, management and development giant Mott MacDonald has strengthened its commitment to the city of Newcastle by sponsoring the women’s basketball team for the second year running.
The world-renowned consultancy places a keen focus on improving society by transforming businesses, communities and employee opportunities.
And its work alongside Newcastle’s top-flight women’s basketball team enables Mott MacDonald to make a positive impact on and off the court.
“I’m delighted that we’re the back of shirt sponsors for the Newcastle Eagles women’s team for a second successive season,” said Phil Redman, Newcastle Area Director, Mott MacDonald.
“Not only are we excited to continue to support the development of the women’s game in the North East but it’s also an opportunity for us to be part of the work the Eagles do within the wider community.
“We’re already looking at a programme of activities which not only supports the team but also helps activities which drive strong social outcomes in our local communities .”
And Paul Blake, Managing Director of Newcastle Eagles, is convinced the firm’s experience and expertise can benefit a franchise looking to capitalise on fresh opportunities at home and abroad.
“This is an exciting period for men’s and women’s basketball in the UK and to have a name like Mott MacDonald associated with Seriös Group Newcastle Eagles only underlines the progress the game is making on and off the court,” he said.
“We truly appreciate the support of all of our sponsors and we see huge potential in this partnership.
“We can learn a lot from Phil and his team and we look forward to welcoming Mott MacDonald back to the Vertu Motors Arena this season.”
Tickets to the opening home game on Saturday 28 October at 7:30pm are on sale now and season cards are still available from the Box Office.
