Eagles WBBL head coach Noelia Cacheiro is pleased to confirm the signing of Maggie Justinak to her side.
Cacheiro’s roster has suffered a number of early season injuries, so the American guard’s addition to the ranks will inject some much-needed energy going into a tough away tie in Sheffield tomorrow.
Justinak graduated from the the Metropolitan State University of Denver Roadrunners with an exciting resume and has already been impressing Coach Cacheiro with her minutes in BUCS competition.
“Maggie has been with me at Newcastle University”, said Cacheiro.
“She’s a very aggressive guard who definitely has a scoring and offensive mentality and she’s tough on defence.
“I think she’s going to be great help for the team.”
The former Roadrunner has already been training with her new teammates and will suit-up for in her first WBBL clash on the road against the high-flying Hatters.
“I’m extremely excited to play for the Eagles”, said Justinak.
“It is a blessing to have received this amazing opportunity to grow as a player in this programme.
“I can’t wait to get out there with this great team!”
Justinak won’t have to wait long to get her wish as she is expected to feature in tomorrow’s tip-off away at Sheffield Hatters.
“She’ll give us a very needed addition to our rotation and hopefully help us with our main weakness right now which seems obvious to every team which is getting the ball over the halfway line when they press”, Cacheiro added.
Tomorrow’s Eagles vs Hatters tip-off is at 1:30pm and the game can be watched live from Ponds Forge on the WBBL’s YouTube channel.
