Newcastle Eagles is proud to announce a new multi-year flagship kit partnership with hummel.
This landmark collaboration is hummel’s inaugural venture into professional basketball, bringing their famous chevrons and heritage of performance innovation to the sport for the very first time.
The globally recognised sportswear brand will design and supply bespoke playing kits, training wear, and off-court apparel for both the Eagles men’s and women’s teams through to 2027.
New iconic designs, reflecting both the club’s proud local roots and hummel’s distinctive Danish style, are set to be unveiled at the club’s annual launch event this Friday, 5 September.
Fans can look forward to getting their hands on the 2025/26 replica Eagles kits and an all-new range of exclusive team apparel, which will be available from the opening men’s home game of the season later this month.
“We’re excited for everyone to see what we’ve been creating with hummel”, said Dan Black, Newcastle Eagles Sales and Communications Manager.
“The club has been working closely with their team since the spring. We know that our fans, players and staff alike are going to love the new ranges.
“It has been a partnership of firsts on both sides, as the first time in over a decade that the club has worked directly with a kit partner following years of league-wide deals, and with hummel’s launch into professional basketball.
“We’re delighted that we have been able to take these steps with hummel as we enter into this new era together, building a strong partnership quickly and working with them on developing products for our sport.”
This ground-breaking deal extends across the entire Eagles family, including the Academy and all 13 Eagles Community Foundation junior clubs, who will be united under one sportswear brand for the first time.
Building on hummel’s established and growing presence in the North East, as technical partner to the Eagles’ neighbouring Sunderland AFC, this new deal represents a bold new chapter for the brand with its expansion into basketball.
The multi-year commitment not only strengthens the brand’s regional footprint, but also signals hummel’s dedication to supporting Newcastle Eagles and contributing to the sport of basketball’s continued growth across the UK.
“We are delighted to partner with Newcastle Eagles to bring hummel chevrons into professional basketball”, said Neil Burke, hummel UK CEO.
“This collaboration is a true milestone for our organization! It allows us to combine innovation, fantastic designs with our knowledge in sportswear production and great level of service.
“By combining our strengths with Newcastle Eagles, we are proud to present a comprehensive offering to the sport.”
The Eagles men will be the first pro-team to tip-off hummel kit this weekend at the Vertu Arena. Tickets for The Launch on Friday when the kit will be unveiled and Sunday’s opening warm-up game are available now from the box office.
