Newcastle Eagles are delighted to welcome Andrea Daley to the Vertu Arena to boost head coach Chloe Gaynor’s squad for the upcoming Women’s Super League Basketball season.
Hailing from Miami, Florida, the 6-foot standout comes to the UK direct from the NCAA Atlantic Coast Conference where she proved her power at both ends of the floor.
The Eagles will feel like home for Daley as she turns pro in Newcastle after making her name at Boston College who share the bird of prey nickname.

“I’m beyond thrilled to begin my professional basketball career with the Newcastle Eagles”, said Daley.
“Playing professional basketball has always been a dream of mine, and I’m so grateful for the opportunity to make that dream a reality here.
“From what I’ve already seen, the team’s style of play is very similar to what I’m familiar with, which makes me even more confident and excited to contribute right away.
In four years as an Eagle in Boston, Daley scored 1,054 points and pulled down 601 rebounds. In her senior year she averaged 8.6 points, 5.9 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.1 steals per game.
Daley’s versatility was recognised when she became a shortlisted nominee for the 2024/25 Cheryl Miller Award. The top 20 small forwards in NCAA Division 1 receive places on the watch-list candidates for the award, named after the three-time Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame Player of the Year.
“Securing Andrea for the 2025/26 season is important for the programme both on and off court”, said Gaynor.
“After a very successful collegiate career at Boston, where she was on the Cheryl Miller watchlist, I’m looking forward to seeing the impact she can make in our league.
“Her ability to play both inside and out, as well as in the open court fits our style of play perfectly and we’ll be looking to her to fill the stat sheet on both ends of the floor.”
Coach Gaynor’s roster continues to take shape with the line-up set to be completed in time for next Friday’s Launch at the Vertu Arena.
Tickets are available from the box office to be a part of this special night with a first chance to meet the new Eagles teams ahead of the 2025/26 season.
