Newcastle Eagles and Maldron Hotel Newcastle are celebrating a major milestone in their long‑standing partnership as they mark six years of working together, including four consecutive seasons with the hotel proudly positioned on the back of the Eagles men’s team’s kit.

The popular city‑centre hotel has become a key pillar of the Eagles’ operations over the years, providing a home‑from‑home for visiting teams from across Super League Basketball (SLB), as well as opposition clubs and officials during the Eagles’ three‑season campaign in the European North Basketball League (ENBL).

Now checking in for season number four as back‑of‑shirt sponsor, Maldron Hotel Newcastle continues to reflect the consistency and commitment that have underpinned its role as the club’s official hotel partner.

“We are delighted to once again be supporting the Newcastle Eagles this season. This partnership is one that we treasure deeply, and the Eagles are very much part of our family now,” said Anna Wadcock, General Manager of Maldron Hotel Newcastle.

“It’s been amazing to see the club going from strength to strength over the last few seasons, and there have been so many positive benefits to this partnership. We’ve had brilliant brand exposure and some amazing business opportunities.

“Our team’s well‑being is a huge part of our culture here at the Maldron, and being able to send them and their families to cheer on the team and experience the amazing atmosphere at a game is just wonderful.”

The Maldron has also welcomed the Eagles’ men’s and women’s teams into its Grain and Grill restaurant for Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners in recent years, giving players – many of whom are far from their loved ones – a warm and familiar home to celebrate together in Newcastle.

This month will mark the ninth time that the Eagles’ Scotswood Road Vertu Arena has hosted a Great Britain’s tip‑offs. When GB face Italy, the Maldron will once again be part of the line‑up of Newcastle‑based organisations supporting the national team.

“We can’t thank Anna, Jemma and the whole of Team Maldron enough for their support over the last six years,” said Paul Blake, Managing Director of Newcastle Eagles.

“Having an official hotel partner has become a key component of our operations each season. Whether it’s offering a warm welcome and temporary home to incoming Eagles players or providing a dependable destination for visiting teams and officials, the Maldron genuinely have our backs – quite literally.

“It’s fantastic to celebrate another milestone with the Maldron this month. I’m very grateful for their continued support as we prepare for our ninth international, marking six years working together, and a fourth season with them on our kits.”

Before the Vertu Arena hosts Great Britain versus Italy, the Eagles welcome regular Maldron guests Surrey 89ers on Friday 20 February. Tickets for both games are available from the Newcastle Eagles Box Office.
