Newcastle Eagles head coach Ian MacLeod has been awarded Molten Kevin Cadle BBL Coach of the Month for January.

It’s a second straight win of the title for MacLeod who adds another award to his trophy cabinet after lifting the 2021 BBL Cup last month.

Our Eagles won the cup down the stretch after overcoming a late deficit in the final live on Sky Sports after a London surged ahead in the fourth quarter.

MacLeod regained control of the game and took the win after a timeout that led our Eagles to score a run of 12 points without reply to snatch the victory as the clock ticked down to the final buzzer.

The Eagles suffered only one defeat last month in their first fixture of 2021 on the road at London Lions, but then in what has become a trademark resilience from the team they then went on to win their next five games.

The second-season head coach has already got his team off to a strong start in February progressing to the BBL Trophy in another huge swing result away at Bristol Flyers to make it a streak of seven.
