This weekend Newcastle Eagles proudly comes together with its fellow BBL and WBBL clubs who are uniting in support of Ukraine.

All 23 men’s and women’s clubs will stand together over the next five days to show solidarity with the Ukrainian people at all matches from Friday 4 March through to Wednesday 9 March.

The thoughts of the British Basketball community are with all of those who have been impacted by the Russian’s invasion of the Ukraine, unequivocally reject Russia’s actions and wish to show our support for the people of Ukraine.

As such all the BBL and WBBL teams, including our Eagles, will take part in showing 24 seconds of solidarity before tip-off at each game.

Clubs will also show the blue and yellow colours of the Ukrainian flag with the wording “Basketball Stands Together” on screens at arenas and encourage fans to donate to the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal.

The DEC appeal, which launched today, is being backed by UK Government matched donations pound-for-pound up to £20 million.

As well as donating online anyone able to support the appeal can also text to donate:
