The Newcastle Eagles looked to secure 4th place in Premier North as they faced a Sheffield team that have already beaten them this season away from home.
The visitors got off to a relaxed start as Sheffield immediately looked to score the Ball inside. The Eagles massaged to take their chances as they went up 7-6 early in the 1st and the real defensive effort went up from their as they went on a 8-0 run before Sheffield took a timeout. They answered back with a 4-0 start as the Newcastle Eagles closed out the first 20-10.
The away side dominated another quarter as plenty of opportunities were given to all players as they piled on the points in the opening minutes. The home side would still push the ball inside and would continue to make their free throws. The gap was still wide enough as the Eagles finished the quarter 19-12.
The third quarter was much more intense from the home side as they looked to close the gap quickly and the Eagles struggled to take their opportunities only scoring 11 all quarter, despite dominating both sides on the rebounds. The eagles won 11-8.
The fourth was the highest scoring for the away side, they struggled defensively however recognising no help multiple times by multiple players allowed plenty of points on the board. The game finished 78-48.
The Eagles secured 4th place and will play at home on the 14th of April as they look to extend their playoff run with the likely hood of a game against Manchester Giants
