Newcastle Eagles Women have postponed their tip-off against Manchester Basketball that was scheduled to take place on Saturday 24 January.
A growing list of players are out of action due to illness and injury following reviews by club staff today, January 23, meaning Chloe Gaynor’s side have been forced to reschedule the fixture.
Full injury update:
- Natalie Černohorská has been ruled out for the remainder of the 2025/26 season with an ACL injury. Natalie’s surgery was completed this week and she is now recovering with the full support of the club and her teammates.
- Chloe Gaynor is confined to the sidelines indefinitely after the Eagles player-coach suffered a knee injury.
- Alyssa Marin is expected to be out of action for a number of weeks due to a fractured hand.
- Alex Campbell is recovering from a fractured finger and her return to the court is being monitored by the club’s medical team.
- Grace Rae recently suffered a hip injury and her return to play is being assessed over the coming weeks.
- Zoe Willis has had a knee injury, which is being monitored by the performance team to ensure a safe return to play.
- Maria Mongomo is currently unable to attend practice or games due to a viral illness.
- Shanique Lucas has Achilles issues which is being monitored by the performance team.
- Andrea Daley has had a toe injury which is being monitored by the performance team.
The club thanks Manchester Basketball and the SLB for their cooperation with this postponement and fans are advised that tickets will remain valid for the rearranged date, which will be announced in due course. Ticket holders unable to attend the new tip-off will be able to request a refund.
