European North Basketball League (ENBL) officials have confirmed that Greece’s Iraklis BC will come to Tyneside to face our Newcastle Eagles on Wednesday 3 December.

The date of the game was set in the summer with the team we would tip-off against previously unannounced and subject to scheduling.

Considered one of the most historical teams in Greece, Iraklis are no strangers to European competition having competed in FIBA Europe Cup in 2020/21 and 2021/22, and become the first club from their country to play in the ENBL.

Newcastle play away at the Thessaloniki club next month on Wednesday 5 November, before this fixture reversal 28-days later.

Originally planned to be a competition between 27 teams from 18 countries, ENBL’s 2025/26 season will now be 26 clubs from 17 nations with one more game added for each side in the same pool as the Eagles to provide the same number of a home and away games as in other pools.

Before the start of the ENBL competition, 27 clubs met and fulfilled the participation criteria in September 2025, however one was not ready to enter the regular season and so three weeks into the schedule, with no other teams ready to join at this stage, the league has decided to continue with 26.

The full list of fixtures added for Pool Three are as follows:

  • KB Go+ Peja vs BK Olomoucko
  • Dziki Warszawa vs Dubrava Zagreb
  • Newcastle Eagles vs Iraklis BC
  • Riga Zelli vs Spartak Pleven

Pega, Riga and Warszawa will all announce their home fixtures in due course after mutual agreement with their oppositions.

You can stay up to date with any schedule changes and have them automatically synced to your device when you add the calendar from our fixtures and results page.

Tickets for the Eagles’ December home ENBL game game are already on sale from the box office.

Fans travelling to Iraklis next month for the away fixture on Wednesday 5 November in Thessaloniki will be able to purchase tickets from the Newcastle Eagles Box Office soon.
