Newcastle Eagles is delighted to officially announced that Newcastle College continue as its men’s team’s main sponsor for the 2025/26 season.

The club’s partnership with the college and its higher education arm, Newcastle College University Centre, was celebrated on its sixth anniversary earlier this year with both staff and students regular visitors to the Vertu Arena on Scotwsood Road where the two organisations are neighbours.

Now in a seventh year, the college and its University Centre both take pride of place on the front of the Eagles men’s jerseys and shooting shirts for Super League Basketball (SLB) and European North Basketball League (ENBL) starting this weekend.

Alan Fenton, Deputy Principal of Newcastle College and Newcastle College University Centre said: “We’re incredibly proud to continue our longstanding partnership with the Newcastle Eagles and to see our University Centre’s name displayed on the front of their jersey once again.

“Now in our seventh year together, this partnership goes far beyond sponsorship – it represents a shared commitment to empowering students through the transformative power of education and sport. Together, we’re opening doors for young people to thrive both in the classroom and on the court.

“The Eagles had a fantastic season last year, and we’re looking forward to supporting them through another exciting season. We wish the team the very best of luck in their opening game this weekend and throughout the season ahead.”

Brand new kit designs have been created by the clubs new official kit partner hummel and feature the city’s and North East region’s iconic landmarks.

Paul Blake, Managing Director of Newcastle Eagles, said: “Our continuing close relationship with Newcastle College is one of the cornerstones of the entire Eagles organisation.

“The college have been with us from day one when we joined them as neighbours on Scotswood Road. As we enter year seven in partnership, the ways we work together just keep growing and our links getting stronger. We have an exciting season ahead with some even greater student involvement planned around the club.

“We want to thank Alan, his colleagues and Newcastle College students for their incredible continued support and we can’t wait to welcome them back into the Vertu Arena.”

The new kits will be worn by the men’s team on the road at Caledonia Gladiators this Sunday and when head coach Marc Steutel’s men tip-off at home for the first time in the new season, this coming Friday 26 September at 7:30pm.
