Newcastle Eagles Men’s Super League Basketball (SLB) and European North Basketball League (ENBL) team’s main sponsor for the 2024/25 season is Newcastle College University Centre.

The 2024/25 key partnership for the club with Newcastle College reinforces the longstanding relationship between the Eagles and one of the region’s leading education providers.

It is a return to the Eagles’ jerseys for Newcastle University College Centre who were front and centre during Marc Steutel’s first season as head coach in the 2022/23 campaign.

Newcastle College University Centre is based in the heart of the North East, offering degree level study to help students achieve their career ambitions.

The University Centre, has over 60 degrees to choose from. Courses are available in the subjects of Art and Design, Childcare, Engineering, Music, Sport and many more, taught by Industry-experienced tutors who know what industry needs now.

Through exciting work placements, live briefs and guest lectures, Newcastle College University Centre students get to build experience whilst studing, giving them the skills they need for an exciting career in industry.

Students also get access to our industry-standard facilities, dedicated higher education environments and outstanding student support to help them reach their full potential.

Less than a mile separates the Vertu Motors Arena, Newcastle Eagles’ Scotswood Road home, and the college’s city centre campus.

Since its opening in 2019, Newcastle College have been an anchor-tenant in the arena, which welcomes students for both classroom and court based studies, college-wide exams, graduation ceremonies and more.

In spring 2023, extending its partnership with the college, the Newcastle College Eagles Academy teams were launched to compete in the national College Basketball League (CBL) competition. The programme was so successful it has now grown to three teams competing in the AoC Regional North East League and Basketball England Under-18 National Basketball League.
