Newcastle Eagles players visited Percy Hedley Secondary School on Wednesday 18th December.
The players worked with 30 young people on the Healthy Hearts programme which is sponsored by Heart Research UK and Subway. The players delivered sessions on healthy eating, no smoking, effect of exercise on the heart and basketball. The programme looks at how all of these things effect the heart and how young people can take positive steps to lead a healthy life and have a healthy heart.
The programme is delivered to 10 special needs schools across Tyne & Wear. the schools also receive coaching and festivals as part of the project. This week the Eagles will also be visiting Trinity School at Oakfield College. These will be the last visits by the players before the holiday season.
