Matt Shaw is head coach of the Derby Basketball Academy which is a partnership between Noel-Baker Sixth Form, Derby College and the Derby Trailblazers Basketball club. Matt played for Derby Storm before going to College in the United States. Upon returning to England Shaw continued playing for the Derby Trailblazers helping lead them to the 2010 England Basketball Division 1 League Title.

Shaw is a qualified teacher and has worked as a professional coach since 2003. Newcastle Eagles Head Coach Fab Flournoy added “This summer’s camp is definitely not one to miss. Matt Shaw is another high quality coach who will add additional support to an already outstanding camp. Not only is the camp based at our home at Sport Central but we have worked hard to bring some of the best coaches in the country to the camp.
